With over 20 years of experience in education, I specialize in helping students build strong foundations in both literacy and mathematics. As the Director of Math, I bring a passion for making math engaging and accessible, while also providing expert support in reading development.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Dakota State University (1997) and a South Dakota Teaching Certificate with endorsements in middle school math, science, social studies, and English language arts. My teaching background includes third through fifth grade classrooms, gifted education, and substitute teaching from preschool through high school.

I tailor one-on-one sessions to each student’s unique learning style—whether they need help mastering basic skills or pushing toward academic excellence. In reading, I use research-based methods to strengthen phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. In math, I break down complex concepts and build confidence step-by-step, from arithmetic to algebra.

My goal is always to foster a love of learning in a positive, supportive environment where students feel empowered to reach their full potential.
